Caitlyn, Janice and Chanae are students in the Gwinnett Tech Culinary Arts Program in Lawrenceville and all are on track to graduate in the Spring. Caitlyn is from Wrens, GA; Janice was raised in Alpharetta and Chanae currently living in Buford is from Tallahassee, FL.
WHAT GOT YOU INTO THE FOOD BUSINESS:
All three always had a passion for food. Janice enjoyed cooking when she was younger, recalling making a 4-course meal for her own 16th birthday. Caitlyn recalls loving food all the way back to middle school and Chanae, after obtaining a degree in event planning, took the opportunity to focus on her love of cooking.
FAVORITE CULINARY MEMORY:
“Learning a new recipe and then preparing the dish for myself or someone else” is Chanae’s best memories. Janice’s favorite moment has been working with her mom to create the menu for the upcoming Gwinnett Tech Culinary lunch - Asian Cuisine theme, on October 24. “It has been wonderful to work beside my mom” she says. Caitlyn’s favorite time has been working a cooking internship this past summer at Yellowstone. “I got to travel and cook - my two favorite things” she says.
